The road goes ever on and on, Down from the door when it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with weary feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then, I cannot say.

I was honored with my images being selected for a series of Yosemite Conservancy postcards selling throughout the park, and truly surprised that my Moonbow image is paired with the words of John Muir! If you click each postcard, you can see the underlying zScapes images.
Yosemite Falls Moonbow
YOSEMITE FALLS on a full moon in the springtime creates the phenomenon of a moonbow for patient observers. Cascading 2,425 ft. over Yosemite's walls, this waterfall is ephemeral with the greatest show happening in the spring months."
As quoted on the back of one of four postcards that proudly display my images in the Yosemite Conservancy stores throughout the park. This image was captured during a Yosemite Conservancy Moonbow workshop that I cohosted with my good friend and fine photographer, John Senser from Twaine Heart. He was instrumental in advocating and running several photo workshops over the years, many years before they 'caught fire' and diminished the experience (Moonbow, Firefall, Winter, North Dome to name a few). The Moonbow is created on a cloudless night as the moon rises in the eastern skies and intersects at the precise angle as the falling misting waters swirl in the breeze to create a rainbow at night! If you are lucky enough to be there, you only see a silver arc, as our eyes cones cannot process color in the dark. However, through the magic of a long exposure the colors present themselves and explode into the image.

Probably My Favirote
Thrive Postcard (fauna)
THRIVE in the great wild open land that is Yosemite National Park. This World Heritage Site is home to delights both big and small, from towering sequoia tress to the smallest of wildflowers.

Dogwood Flower taken along H120 entering the park in June of 2009. Early morning dew and lingering showers accentuated the colors.

Jefferey Shooting Star captured along the Lukens Lake Trail coming from White Wolf, June 2012. A lovely hike meandering thru the woods.

Frozen Quaking Aspen Leaf near the Merced River opposite El Cap is a favorite spot for me. I was in the park on my birthday 2012.
Roam Postcards (wildlife)
ROAM among the many wild things in Yosemite National Park. This World Heritage Site is home to a diversity of wildlife tucked among the forest, meadows and rocks.

Make Deer Buck resting in the Yellowstone corral Feb 2014 as we passed by on our way to Mirror Lake with the Winter/Firefall workshop class. It was a disappointing year as no snow, no firefall!

Coyote strolling along Southside Dr. early on a cold December morning with a mission in his eyes and a brisk pace. I kept my distance and he kept an eye on me! Win-win.

Ravens are everywhere and this particular specimen was caw-caw'ng away as he posed for his portrait. They are very opportunistic and will hobble towards you if they get a wiff you are about to feed them. Please don't.
Waterfalls Postcard
YOSEMITE'S WATERFALLS thunder at their fullest during the spring runoff. Snowmelt from the high mountains above feeds these delightful cascades that tumble down to the floor of Yosemite Valley.

Yosemite Falls walking along the Falls Trail in April 2011. It thunders, it inspires, it awes you and draws you in as you walk towards one of the most powerful forces of nature.

Ribbons Falls (not included in the postcard) from a Moonbow workshop in 2009. Added as was one of my earlier favorites.

Nevada Waterfall is worth the extra hike from Vernal. I took this image on an early season solo hike. The mist at the base was a welcomed cool down.
