Paris 2006

For awhile, we had been visiting London post Xmas for New Years and decided to add a short visit to Paris. Hoped on the Eurostar and visited the Louvre, Norte Dame, St Chapel and took in a walking tour.

Dresden & Berlin Germany 2002

One of Betsey's best friends from Bryn Mawr days was on a temporary assignment in Berlin and we took advantage of her gracious offer to put us up and show us the sights. This was shortly after the Berlin Wall fall so change was in the air. A day trip to Dresden, some wonderful Turkish cuisine and interesting museum visits made for a fun trip. Of particular memory, white asparagus season was in full force and Penny whipped up some wonderful meals.

Paris on the way home 2022

After our stay with Penny & Tim in Berlin, we met with my mother who was care-taking her grandmother in London. It was a good break for her and she treated us to Laperouse, where she and my dad had dined while on assignment in the city of lights. It was our first taste of a wine from Saint-Estèphe AOC in the Medoc subregion and we have had our eyes out ever since.
